Discover the vocation of the Little Sisters of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus.
A Call to Serve
A vocation to religious life is an invitation to give one's life to God and to the service of others. The Little Sisters live this calling in community, following the spirituality of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus and serving the people of Haiti through their ministries.
Their lives are shaped by prayer, community, simplicity, service, and a commitment to the dignity of every person they encounter. For young women who feel called to explore religious life, the congregation offers a path of discernment, formation, community, and service.
Is God calling you?
Every vocation begins with an invitation.
The Little Sisters of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus invite young women who feel called to give their lives to God and to the service of His people to prayerfully consider the vocation of religious life.
Inspired by the “Little Way” of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, our vocation is rooted in a simple but profound way of living: trusting in God's love, seeking holiness in the ordinary, and offering ourselves through small acts of love and service.
For the Little Sisters, following Christ means living together in community, growing in prayer and faith, and going where the needs of God's people are greatest. It means walking alongside children, families, farmers, the elderly, and communities experiencing hardship—and bringing hope through education, healthcare, pastoral ministry, agriculture, and compassionate presence.
A Life Given to God
To become a Little Sister of Saint Thérèse is to embrace a life centered on Christ, community, prayer, and service.
The Sisters live a communal and contemplative life while being actively present in the communities entrusted to their care. Through their daily lives and ministries, they seek to make God's love tangible and to accompany others with dignity, joy, and compassion.
A vocation with the Congregation can include opportunities to serve in many different ways, according to the gifts, formation, and needs of each Sister. Some serve in education and youth formation. Others participate in healthcare, agricultural development, pastoral ministry, liturgical service, or the care of children and the elderly.
Whatever the ministry, the heart of the vocation remains the same:
To love God, to love others, and to serve with joy.
Inspired by Saint Thérèse
Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face is the spiritual patron of the Congregation and a model for the Sisters' way of life.
She discovered that holiness did not require extraordinary accomplishments, but could be found in ordinary acts performed with extraordinary love. Her Little Way calls us to trust in God's mercy, remain humble, and place love at the center of everything we do.
The Sisters seek to carry this spirituality into the realities of everyday life—into classrooms, clinics, parishes, farms, communities, and homes.
Like roses scattered along the path, they seek to leave behind small signs of God's love and hope wherever they are sent.
A Vocation of Accompaniment
Religious life is not a journey that needs to be discerned alone.
The Congregation accompanies women who are discerning a possible vocation, offering space for prayer, reflection, spiritual growth, and a deeper understanding of religious life and the mission of the Little Sisters.
Discerning a vocation does not mean having every answer. It begins with being willing to listen.
